Covid will decide which business will reign supreme.

2021 was tough.

And so begins a new year.

The most trending phrase is ‘Rat Test’.

Covid hotlines sit unanswered across Australia.

Hospitals are at break point capacity.

Jobs are being lost and business are closing permanently.

The most terrifying symptom of this dreaded illness appears to be constricted breathing, then a fit and very healthy man, under 30 dies suddenly in NSW.

Meanwhile, a guy who plays tennis for a living soaks up media attention, because of visa issues. ( Um… maybe you should have just put your big boy undies on and had the vaccine?)

Welcome to 2022 people.

Make no mistake. This feels like a war.

History has shown us that in the post war period, moods will turn optimistic and people will make up for what will have been 3 years ( possibly more) of this war, ‘on the world.’

Perhaps there will be another baby boom. Construction will be needed to cater to this new boom. New houses will be built, at break neck speed and businesses will pivot, or pop up to fill the voids of this new beginning. Essential services and jobs will be highly sought such as teachers and nurses, ( recession proof ).

The businesses that choose to cater to the new normal and have cash supplies and digital presences will survive and may ever thrive on the other side.

Surviving businesses are learning some valuable lesson during this tough period.
